U16 ‘A’ Leinster Championship; Laois vs Dublin; Sat 28th March 2009 Dublin kick started their 2009 U16 campaign with a fine win over Laois in Park Rathineska. Played in dry but very windy weather conditions the visitors prevailed on a score line of 9-11 to 3-5. Dublin started against the wind and battled well against early Laois pressure. There was a feast of football in the annual Marianne Costello Memorial Tournament on Saturday in Naomh Peregrine. Six Dublin Clubs and Kilmovee Shamrocks played for the honours in this 9-a-side blitz. Kilmovee Shamrocks went home with the trophy for the second year running narrowly beating last years runners-up, Clannagael Fontenoy for the top honours. Leinster set Saturday 14th March for the first round of the Juvenile Championship and Dublin drew Meath at both Under 14 and Under 16 levels.
