Government announce support for Ladies Football and CamogieThe Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan TD, today announced a two-year agreement, commencing in 2017, to provide support for Inter-County Ladies Football and Camogie Players. Minister O’Donovan announced that he will be providing funding of €500,000 in 2017 and 2018, through Sport Ireland, to support programmes included in a joint proposal by the Women’s Gaelic Player..

Our senior
team got their 2016 Leinster Championship campaign off to a good start with a
3-15 to 0-04 win over Laois in Portmarnock. This coming Sunday Dublin will
travel to Westmeath for their 2nd round robin game of the series
venue and time are still to be confirmed. Congratulations to Lauren Magee and
Amy Conroy on making their senior Inter County championship debuts in the Laois
game.

Commiserations to our brave U14 team who battled gallantly
versus a strong Kildare side in last Saturdays Leinster final but try as they
might they could not close the gap on their opponents with Kildare holding on

Two Dublin teams of equal strength represented the Capital
last weekend in the All Ireland U14 blitz in Portlaoise. Both of our teams
competed extremley well in the competition doing the County proud. Well done to
all the girls and their management team. Next up is the Leinster final on May
28th versus Kildare, venue and times to be confirmed.

Ireland Blitz which is taking place in Portlaoise GAA, Rathleague, County Laois.

Dublin Club Championship 2016
The draw for
the Senior to Junior C Dublin club championships took place last night at the
April County Board meeting. The opening round of the championship will get
underway on Wednesday May 11th with 41 teams vying for 2016
championship honours across the five championship competitions.
Reigning
senior champions Foxrock Cabinteely will begin the defence of their title with
a home game versus last year’s County runners up St Brigids. 2..
