Crunch time in New Ireland Assurance Junior Championship's

Next Wednesday night August 10th, will be a massive night for a number of clubs as the final group games are played in the Junior D, G and F New Ireland Assurance Dublin club championships. Places in the knock-out stages are still up for grabs with a number of clubs are hoping to obtain a coveted home semi-final.

Junior D Championship:

In group 1, Erins Isle travel to Bushy Park for a top of the table clash with Ranelagh Gaels the winner will have home advantage in the semi-final. Fingal Ravens and Stars of Erin will see out their championship campaign on Wednesday evening as both cannot progress beyond the group stage.

Group 2 has three teams still very much in contention. Parnells B are home to Whitehall Colmcille while Thomas Davis travel to Naomh Olaf for their final group game. A win for Parnells will secure the Coolock club a home semi-final. However victories for Whitehall Colmcille and Thomas Davis will leave three teams level on point’s thus bringing score difference into play to decide our semi-finalists, still a lot to play for here in this tight group.

Junior E Championship:

This championship has two further rounds left to be played as the group contains six teams. Castleknock B and Clanna Gael Fontenoy currently lead the table on six points each followed by Lucan Sarsfields B and St Patricks Donabate who both have three points a-piece.

Junior F Championship:

Ballyboughal and Garristown will battle in out in group 1 for top spot as both clubs are level on six points a- piece. Ballyboughal returned to Ladies football this year having previously been amalgamated with St Finians of Swords. Earlier this year, Ballyboughal won the division 8 league title while Garristown currently lie top of division 9.

In group 2 Clontarf B have already qualified for the semi-final on Wednesday St Finian's Newcastle and Na Gaeil Oga will play out the final group game to determine who progress to the knock-out stages as group runner up.

Junior G championship:

St Brendan’s have been in powerful form this season cruising to victories in all of their competitions to date their only blip has been a cup loss to Garristown. Their fixture versus Trinity Gaels is somewhat of a formality as the Donaghmede club have struggled to find their form this season. The crunch game of this group is the meeting between St Monica’s and Round Towers, Lusk. The winner moves on to the knock-out stage the loser is gone from the championship for another season its that simple.

The meeting of Man O War and Ballymun Kickhams in group 2 will have a huge impact on the final placings. Ballymun Kickhams are currently on top of the table, a win will cement their place in the semi-final however a loss to Man O War and a win for Wanderers versus bottom of the table St Sylvester’s, will have the three clubs level on six points a-piece with score difference once again being used to determine who qualifies for the next round.
