LGFA Special Congress in Croke Park this weekend

Management and Central Council delegates of the LGFA will be arriving in Dublin on Friday the 9th of December to attend a Special Congress of the association. Delegates will be working hard in Croke Park discussing, debating and deciding upon the new rules for the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.A specially appointed rules committee have been working for over the last couple of years to review and amend the on and off field rules of Ladies Gaelic Football. The annual playing of the Dub
Stars Camogie and Ladies Football games
will take place in St Brigid's GAA Club, Navan Road on Tuesday the 27th
December. This is a great sporting occasion with both Associations working
closely together to provide players of both codes with a suitable stage to play
against the best in the county.
The Camogie Dubs Stars v
Dublin game starts at 11.00am followed by the Ladies Football game, Dubs Stars
v Dublin at 12.30pm.

trials will be commencing shortly, clubs have received communication from the
Dublin U14 manager Terry Jennings via the office regarding the procedure for
nominating players for assessments please be aware that the deadline for
submission of nominations is next Monday the 5th of December.

/ Dublin LGFA Annual Awards night took place in the Clarion Hotel in Liffey
Valley on Friday night last. Over 230 people were in attendance including Uachtarán
Cumann Peil Gael na mBan, Pat Quill and Uachtarán Comhairle Laighean Sean
McMullin.

Staunton's performance denies Na Fianna All Ireland Crown

A tally of 1-09 from star attacker Cora Staunton helped Carnacon of Mayo to
win the All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Club Championship for a fourth time
at Ballymahon, Co Longford.
Carnacon only trailed when Orlagh Egan got the game's first score for Na
Fianna in the fourth minute. The Mayo team were very strong across the pitch
and the ability to call on Staunton at full-forward was a huge boost. Captain
Fiona McHale also chipped in strongly, getting three first-half points.

Senior Club All Ireland winners medals are surprisingly
spare amongst club players in the capital in fact since the competitions
inception back in 1977 some 34 years ago only one Dublin club has lifted the
Dolores Tyrell Memorial Cup, Ballyboden St Endas won back to back titles in
2004 and 2005 and had also contested the 2001 final but lost out to Donoughmore
of Cork.
