New Ireland Assurance Dublin Ladies Adult Club Championships

Following Wednesday night’s round of semi-finals fixtures the pairings are now known for the 2016 County finals at the top end of our adult club championships. With one exception, as we await the winner of the second Junior A championship semi-final between Castleknock and Man O War which is down for decision on July 27th.

Ballyboden St Endas and St Brigid's played out a thrilling semi-final, with the Russell Park girls winning in dramatic fashion scoring a last gasp goal in the last few seconds in the second half of extra time to book their place in the senior final. Their opponents will once again be Foxrock Cabinteely who had 5 points to spare over Kilmacud Crokes in their semi-final, the pairing will be a repeat of the 2015 senior decider.

Over in Ringsend former 2010 Intermediate champions, Clanna Gael Fontenoy overcame a spirited Skerries Harps side to book their place in the final. Their opponents will be last year’s runners up Clontarf who overcame Clann Mhuire with an impressive display to win by 4 points.

St Maurs qualified for their third junior championship final in a row by defeating a strong Round Towers Clondalkin team by 1-17 (20) to 3-06 (15). St Maur’s now await the winner of the second semi-final between Castleknock and Man O War.

In the Junior B championship final Naomh Barrog have qualified for their first county final since 1996 having defeated Ballyboden St Endas B on a score line of 3-09 (18) to 2-05 (11). Naomh Barrog will face Templeogue Synge Street in the final. Templeogue will look to add the Junior B title to their list of achievements having won the Junior C crown in 2015.

The 2016 Junior C championship final will be contested between last season’s runners up Na Fianna B and O’Dwyers. Both teams experienced contrasting semi-final results. Na Fianna had to dig deep to hold off the challenge from Crumlin in order to book their place in the C decider for a second year in a row. The Glasnevin girls had just a single point to spare over Crumlin at the final whistle. While out in Balbriggan, O’Dwyers cruised by a spirited St Anne’s side in their semi-final, outscoring their opponents by 5-20 (35) to 0-06.

All five New Ireland Assurance County Finals are scheduled to be played on Wednesday August 31st and or on Friday 2nd Sept as per the Dublin LGFA ratified fixture plan. Confirmed dates, times and venues will be confirmed by the County Secretary in due course.
