2011 Hall of Fame winner announced..

Cavans John Joe Brady has been announced as the recipent of the 2011 Hall of Fame award this is the second honour this year for the popular Cavan man as back in March John Joe received a Presidents Award for his contribution to Ladies football.

John Joes association with ladies football started in 1976 and since then he has held a number of administration and management positions with his club Mullahoran, his County Cavan, his province and Central Council.

He was also a very capable referee and was the first Chairman of Mullahoran and continued in the role for a total of11 years. John Joe helped Mullahoran ladies win the first ever All Ireland Clun title back in 1977.

John Joes wife Abbey and daughters Aine and Yvonne are also heavily involved with the ladies game with Yvonne refereeing this years drawn TG4 Junior All Ireland final New York v Wicklow.

Croke Park also announced today the nominations for the inaugural Players Player of the Year Awards.

Junior: Emma Clarke (New York) Lucy Mulhall (Wicklow) Catriona McKeon (Wicklow)
Intermediate: Aisling Doonan (Cavan) Aine Tighe (Leitrim) Maud Annie Foley (Westmeath)
Senior: Sharon Courtney (Monaghan) Juliet Murphy (Cork) Briege Corkery (Cork).

The winners of the Provincial Young Player of the Year were also announced:

Connacht, Sarah Rowe (Mayo) Leinster, Michelle Farrell (Longford)
Munster, Laura Rogers (Kerry) Ulster Ciara McDermott (Monaghan)

The awards will be presented at the ONeills / TG4 All Star Banquet which takes place in the Citywest Hotel on Saturday the 12th of November.
