Dublin B team have it all to play for..

  • Aug 29,2011

As the month of September fast approaches only one Dublin team remain in Inter County action!
This coming Saturday at the early throw in time of 11am the Dublin senior B team take on Galway in the Aisling McGing semi-final.

Dublin are reigning All-Ireland champions having won the title last year following a comprehensive win over Cork the rebels up until then had the upper hand on the Dubs at this grade having beaten Dublin in three consecutive finals from 2007 to 2009.

Dublin manager Pat Stritch along with his fellow management team has been working hard behind the scenes with the sole aim of retaining this All Ireland title.

Dublin’s campaign started back on the 3rd of July with a comprehensive win over Mayo, this was followed up with further victories over Kerry, Meath and Galway. The Dubs campaign strayed off course a little when Cork defeated the champions by one point in the last round of the league series. Dublin had a lot of possession in that game but failed to convert the opportunities that came their way however the two week break between the Cork game and the semi-final will have given the Dubs time to tweak those glitches.

The last time the two sides meet they served up an entertaining display of football with Dublin just strong enough defensively to shrug off the challenge from the Tribes women however Galway will travel to the capital once again knowing that they have players if they click who have the potential to cause an upset no question we have an interesting match to look forward to..

Dublin’s path to the semi-final:
3rd July Dublin 9-21 Mayo 0-01
24th July Kerry 1-10 Dublin 2-11
5th August Meath 1-04 Dublin 2-15
15th August Dublin 0-11 Galway 0-06
21st August Dublin 0-14 Cork 1-12
