Inter County News:
Best wishes to the Dublin minor team who take on Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final this coming Saturday, venue and time are still to be confirmed so please check our website dublinladiesgaelic.ie for updates. Our senior team play Kildare in the TG4 first round qualifiers on Saturday the 23rd of July throw in time 5:15pm once again the venue is still to be confirmed. This game will be shown live on TG4.
Development News:
A FUNdamentals coaching course will take place on Saturday the 23rd of July in Na Fianna GAA Club located on St. Mobhi Road, Glasnevin. The course will run from 10am to 4pm, lunch will be provided. The FUNdamentals coaching course is the first step on the pathway of development for all club coaches. In order for mentors to progress and partake in other course programmes / workshops they must FIRST complete a FUNdamentals coaching course. The Course FEE is now only €20.00 per person. The booking form can be downloaded from dublinladiesgaelic.ie if interested in taking part please complete all section of the booking form then send the form and the €20.00 course fee to Camillus Kilpatrick (Dublin Development Officer) full details on form.
TESCO Club Championship Finals:
The line-up is known for our championship finals, the Intermediate final Clontarf v Round Towers will take place on Wednesday the 20th of July @ 7:15pm in Fingallians GAA club, Junior final St Maurs v St Sylvester’s will be the curtain raiser to our senior final Ballyboden St Endas v Na Fianna both will be played in Parnell Park with a 7pm and 8:30pm throw in times on Wednesday the 27th of July.
All Ireland Sevens:
The junior, Intermediate and Senior TESCO All Ireland Sevens will be held in St. Sylvester’s GAA Club and Naomh Mearnóg GAA Clubs on Saturday the 24th of September. All pitches are in the one area. The All Ireland Sevens Tournament has become one of the most popular and looked forward to events of the year. All Clubs are invited to enter this tournament and entry forms are available to download from the LGFA website www.ladiesgaelic.ie
These forms should be completed by club Secretary’s and returned to the office accompanied with the entry fee of €500 (€300 will be returned to clubs once they have participated in the tournament
Rugby girls want to play Ball!
The Amsterdam Ladies Rugby Football Club who will be touring Ireland at the end of the summer has asked to play a one off game of Ladies Gaelic football versus a Dublin selection. The game has received the approval of both the Ladies Gaelic Football Association in Croke Park and the Dublin Ladies County Board. The game itself will be played in accordance with the rules of the LGFA and will be refereed by a Dublin official. Clubs are invited to nominate two players but please be aware of the following criteria:
1. Players must be available on the Fri 12th and Sat 13th August 2011 (date to be confirmed).
2. Players must be registered with CPG na mBan as Adults.
3. Players must be available for training in advance of the game (venue, times and dates to be confirmed)
4. Players who are members of the Dublin Senior or Senior “B” squad cannot be nominated
5. The Dublin Co Executive Committee reserve the right to call up any player not nominated.
6. The Dublin Co Executive Committee will make the final selection and decide on the panel size.
Nominations can be emailed to info@dublinladiesgaelic.ie on or before the 12th of July. Please include the players full name, email address and contact phone number.
July County Board Meeting:
The July County Board meeting will take place in Parnell Park on Tuesday the 19th of July @ 7.30pm sharp.
