A good Day 1 at Féile..
Kilmacud Crokes and St Jude’s had a good start to their respective Féile campaigns with both clubs registering victories in their opening fixtures of the group stage.
However today is potential the make or break day in this competition. Both teams will have two group fixtures to play and should the results go according to plan a semi-final will be pencilled in for later this evening.
Kilmacud Crokes who are playing in Group A in division one secured a comfortable win over their host club Mallow yesterday afternoon, Kilmacud Crokes 6-08 Mallow 1-01. The other result from this group went to plan with reigning Féile champions Claregalway securing an impressive 9-05 to 0-01 win over Cork’s Liscarroll.
Kilmacud Crokes play Liscarroll this morning at 10.45am while the big test and the match that most likely will determine who moves on to the semi-final will take place at 1pm with the Stillorgan girls play Claregalway.
Meanwhile over in division 2 Group B St Jude’s also had a comfortable win in their first game over their host club Erin’s own, St Jude’s 2-06 Erin’s Own 0-03. The danger team for Jude’s in this group appears to be Tyrone champions Errigal Ciaran who had a whopping 11-06 to 0-01 win over Inch Rovers of Cork.
St Jude’s take on Inch Rovers at 10:44am while the crunch game versus Errigal Ciaran will be at 12:45 so there is a lot of football still to be played and a lot to play for!
Once again everyone in Dublin sends their best wishes to both teams!
