Kilmacud Crokes Dublin Champs head to Féile

  • Jun 30,2011

As the old saying goes if at first you don’t succeed try try again! Kilmacud Crokes certainly applied that phase as they bounced back from the heartbreak of their one point defeat to Ballyboden St Endas in the 2010 Féile final to go onto win this year’s final by the same margin and to the reverse the result on the Boden girls.

Kilmacud Crokes have been drawn in Group A of Division one in Féile and will have strong opposition from three times Galway Féile champions and reigning Féile National champions Claregalway along with Cork sides, Mallow and Liscarroll.

However they have amongst their panel a number of girls who were a part of the Dublin U14 team who reached this years All Ireland final versus Cork, the likes of Lauren Magee, Holly Greer and Lauren Bedford will have gathered a lot of experience this season and that could bring an edge to their game that might give this Crokes team an added advantage in this competition.

They begin their Féile campaign today at 2pm in the superb setting of Mallow GAA club when they play their host club, Mallow.

Best of luck to all the players and their management team.
