Brown hoping for crowd at ladies final
by Jackie Cahill

Dublin manager Tommy Brown is hoping that the feel-good factor engulfing the county will bring punters through the Parnell Park turnstiles for next Saturdays Bord Gáis Energy Ladies National Football League Division 2 final.

Dublins senior footballers and hurlers have contested National League finals over the last two weekends and now the time has come for Browns All-Ireland senior champions to take to the platform.

The Sky Blues will meet Meath in the Division 2 decider, a dress rehearsal for their forthcoming Leinster semi-final.

And Brown wants the Dublin faithful to come out in force in support of the team.
He said: "I missed the football but I was at Croke Park for the hurling last Sunday. There was a great buzz, a great feeling around it and a good energy in the place. Im hoping for some of that to rub off and hopefully well get a few more punters through the gates.

"The main thing is that every time weve been on TV, its a good game.

"Theres rarely been a game that weve been involved in that hasnt been good and exciting. Supporters will definitely get value for money."

Brown has reported a clean bill of health for the League final - and Dublins hopes of victory have been boosted by the return to training of the remarkable and long-serving Mary Nevin.

Brown smiled: "Its funny - everyones knocks seem to clear up the week before a big match! Mary Nevin took part in a full training session on Sunday."

Dublin captured their first senior All-Ireland title last year and Brown wants his team to continue on the winning trail by capturing further silverware.

He said: "Finals are for winning - not just being there on the day.

"Dublin lost to Cavan in this years League and we werent happy about that. Its time to keep the ball rolling and get another bit of silverware."

The Cavan reverse is Dublins only competitive defeat in 2011 but the Dubs turned the tables on the Breffni County when the teams met again in the Divisional semi-final.
