Two out of two for the Girls in Blue!

The U16 and minor footballers of Dublin were busy in Leinster championship action over the weekend. On Saturday the Dublin U16 took on Wexford in the second round tie in Pairc Ui Murchú the home of Ballyboden St Endas.

This was a very competitive game played in glorious weather and in front of a large crowd however the young Dubs proved to be too strong for a spirited Wexford outfit eventually running out convincing winners, Full time score Dublin (4-13) v Wexford (2-4).

Westmeath were the visitors to the superb Clann Mhuire GAA club in picturesque setting of North County Dublin on Easter Monday. Last year the mid-landers caused an upset by defeating the Dubs in the first round of Leinster a feat that had not been achieved for a long time.

However history was not going to repeat itself and Dublin who employed a good work rate performance booked their place in the Leinster final on a 4-21 to 1-10 score line.

Dublin U16s take on Laois this coming Saturday in their last round robin game while the minor team have a Leinster final to look forward to on the 14th of May.
