RTÉ Sport today announced the shortlist of nine finalists for the RTÉ Sports Person of the Year Award. It also named the eight contenders for the RTÉ Team of the Year Award.

The Sports Person of the Year nominees are:

Katie Taylor, Graeme McDowell, Grainne Murphy, Tony McCoy, Lar Corbett, Paddy Barnes, Tommy Bowe, Derval O’Rourke, and Rory McIlroy.

In the Team Of The Year category, the nominees are:

Irish Mens Senior Boxing Team, Cork Senior Football Team, Republic Of Ireland U-17 Womens Soccer Team, Dublin Ladies Football Team, Shamrock Rovers, Tipperary Senior Hurlers, Irish Mens U-23 Cross Country Team, Wexford Camogie Team.

RTE’s sports journalists, editorial staff and broadcasters will select both award winners and the winners will be announced at a live ceremony on Wednesday 22nd December.

There are a limited number of tickets available to the public for this years awards ceremony.
