Press release

The Dublin Ladies County Board have announced the appointment of Tommy Brown (Naomh Olaf) as the countys new senior football manager; his nomination was ratified by the county board delegates at a meeting held last night in Parnell Park.

Brown was an integral part of outgoing Manager Gerry McGill’s management team having served as a selector with McGill for the last four years, he is credited with playing a fundamental role in bringing the All Ireland title to the capital for a historic first time following Dublin’s 3-16 to 0-09 victory over Tyrone last September.

Brown has named fellow outgoing selector Michael Ryan as a member of his management team along with Dublin legend Angie McNally.
McNally was the manager of the Dublin senior B team who captured the All Ireland B title back in early September.

Dublin Chairperson Maureen King stated that “it was important that the right candidate was secured for the position, Tommy has the experience, knowledge and drive to ensure that Dublin remains amongst the top teams in the Country. Tommy’s management team of Michael Ryan and Angie McNally both bring vast experience, passion and enthusiasm into the mix. Dublin is in safe hands and we can look forward to the future with both enthusiasm and confidence”.

Club delegates also ratified Pat Stritch (St Margaret’s) as Dublin Senior B manager and U16 All Ireland winning manager Fintan O’Curry (Ballinteer St Johns) as Minor manager for 2011.
