Sinead Ahern is the Lucozade Sport/Irish Independent Player of the Month for September. The Dublin forward was in superb scoring form during the TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Championship Final at Croke Park in September scoring 2-7, a haul that included 2-4 from open play.
Her player of the match performance helped Dublin beat Tyrone by 16 points and capture the Brendan Martin Cup for the first time after three previous final defeats.
The Sylvester player’s fine performance banished any memories of last years narrow loss to Cork in which she missed a penalty and was a true testament of the player’s character.
This is Sinead’s second Player of the Month award having received her first in the 2008 season.
