Best of Luck to the Girls in blue!

To Gerry, Denise and all the Dublin players and management the very best of luck in the final on Sunday, 2010 to date has been a brilliant year for Dublin we have won three Leinster titles and two All Irelands the icing on the cake would be to bring the Brendan Martin Cup to Dublin for the first time, come on the Dubs! 

The Dublin Ladies County Board would like to thank all the clubs who have purchased tickets and have encouraged their players / members to cheer the girls on in the All-Ireland Final on Sunday your support is extremely appreciated by all concerned. 

Tickets can be still purchased from www.ticketmaster.ie  On Sunday tickets can be bought from the GAA ticket office situated on the North Circular road at Gills corner and from the GAA ticket office on Dorset Street.

 The festival of Ladies Gaelic Football commences on Saturday with the TESCO All Ireland Sevens which take place in Naomh Mearnóg and St Sylvester’s,  10 Dublin clubs are involved and we wish them all the very best of luck.

Senior: Naomh Mearnóg, Na Fianna, Foxrock Cabinteely.Intermediate: Ballinteer St Johns, Kilmacud Crokes, Garda.Junior: St Sylvester’s, St Peregrines, Scoil Ui Chonaill and Cuala. 

Best wishes also to Kilmacud Crokes who are hosting the annual U14 All Ireland Sevens. 

A number of Dubs are involved with official jobs in Croke Park on Sunday we would also like to wish them the very best of luck, Tonya Allen (Linesperson Junior Final), Derek McKittrick (Umpire Junior Final), Niamh Barrett (Stand by Linesperson Junior Final) and Garryowen McMahon (Umpire in the Intermediate Final), Keith Tighe (Countdown Clock). 

Our two mascots for the All Ireland final are Niamh Gavin who attends Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin and Amy Boyd who is a patient in Temple Street Childrens hospital, well done girls enjoy your day out in Croke Park. 

Our website competition winners are Ellen Drumm, Claude Hobbs and Enda Farrell who all won family tickets to Croke Park on Sunday.

Just a thought the great Muhammad Ali once said “Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win”.
