OTooles Win U12 Div 1 League with Photos
OTooles U12s lifted the Div 1 league cup after a hard fought win against Kilmacud Crokes on Thursday evening.
OTooles needed a win or a draw to win the league, while Crokes needed a win to force the league into a play-off between themselves and OTooles.
At half time Crokes were 7 points ahead after some clinical finishing from their forwards.
After the restart OTooles lifted their work rate and began to take control of the game. With ten minutes remaining on the clock, Crokes were 3 points up. In the final ten minutes of this amazing game, the ball struck posts, penalty’s were scored and open goals missed at both ends.
When Lizzy Bennett finally blew her whistle at the end of the game OTooles had completed an amazing come back with a narrow two point win against a very good Crokes team.
The game was played in a great spirit in front of a large crowd from both the home and away Crokes fans. It was fitting that after a great game both sets of players were treated to ice creams as an ice cream van was parked in the O’Tooles car park.
