Midweek Messages - Thurs 16th May

  • May 20,2010

Congratulations to Maureen King who is returning to the County Board in the role of Vice Chairperson.

Many of the Juvenile Leagues are ended or coming to an end. To fill in the weeks until the summer break there will be a Summer Challenge organised. This will take different formats and the Fixtures Co-ordinators will be in contact directly with the mentors about it. It will be non-competitive i.e; no trophies/medals.

If there is sufficient interest, and if Co-ordinators come forward to form a sub-committee, we will consider running the 9-a-side JSL9 again this year. Last year approximately 150 girls were out most weekends during the summer break playing football.

GRAB YOUR WHISTLE:
Two courses are planned for new Referees [or for those who ref other codes and wish to officiate at Ladies games]. These are two day courses and there is a small charge to cover the snack provided - €5. Participants will be required to purchase a full set of Referees kit - €60. Participants must be at least 16 years old.
  • Course 1: CLG Naomh Barróg, Kilbarrack - 10am to 4pm on Saturday & Sunday 26th & 27th June
  • Course 2: CLG Naomh Olaf, Sandyford - 10am to 4pm on Saturday & Sunday 3rd & 4th July [note changed date from that given at the Co Board - which clashed with exams]

Intending participants must eMail the Co.Secretary and be prepared to attend on both Saturday & Sunday.

Registrations are now overdue and still some clubs have not registered.  Remember the Co Registrar has 275 teams to check & process through both Leinster Council and Central Council! Many thanks to those who have met the deadline.
