Leinster Council writes:

9th March 2010

A Chara,

Following a review of the 2009 Grab Your Whistle courses it was evident that very few Level 2 Courses had been organised within Counties.

As we are constantly trying to encourage best practice and raise the standards of our games our Referee Development Structure provides us with an invaluable framework that we can utilise effectively and efficiently.

Our Referee Development framework outlines and encourages correct reporting procedures and provides referees with an opportunity to clarify rules and be updated with rule changes.

The Level 2 course was developed to provide County Boards with an opportunity to interact with their current referees and put in place an effective fixture appointment structure.

We would ask all Development Officers and Counties to utilise the Grab Your Whistle courses (Level 1 and Level 2) and ensure our Referees are given every opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills.

All referees are encouraged to complete the Level 2 course, so now is the time to get organising for the benefit of your County and our game.

If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Paula Prunty (01 8363156) or email paula@ladiesgaelic.ie to book an evening for your course.

Regards,
