DLGFA - Weekly Update 13th April 2009
- Apr 12,2009
Happy Easter to all involved with Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football.
The next County Board meeting takes place in Parnell Park at 7.30pm on Tuesday 21st April. Full attendance is requested.
Dublin play Cork next Saturday 18th April in the semi-final of the Bord Gais Energy National League Division 1.
The game will form part of a double-header with the Dublin v Cork men’s u21 All-Ireland football semi-final. The venue is Semple Stadium, Thurles and the throw-in is at 1.45pm. Even though the game is live on TG4 we would ask all Dublin supporters to be there early and support the Jackies. We appreciate the support we have received to date and look forward to more of the same next weekend. Dublin have already beaten the Rebelettes in the league phase by a single point in a cracking game at Naomh Mearnóg. The Jackies will have to play out of their skins again if they are to do the double over the reigning champions. They struggled through large phases of the quarterfinal against Armagh while Cork had a comfortable victory over Kerry. Nevertheless they should be well rested and rearing to go for this crunch decider. To facilitate their preparation Wednesday’s league programme has been postponed and the Adult Cup games will replace them.
As mentioned in last week’s notes Lá na gClub takes place on 10th May to celebrate 125 years of the GAA. No Association fixtures will take place on that day. Please ensure that Ladies Football fittingly celebrates the occasion within your club.
The Dublin Féile will take place on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd May. The semi-finals and final will take place on Sunday 3rd May. Applications have to be with the county Secretary on or before Friday April 17th .
There are a number of places still available on the upcoming Level 1 Coaching Course on 25th April in St. Peregrine‘s. Contact Lyn Savage at 018363156 for further details.
Referees please ensure that all match reports are forwarded to the County Secretary after each game. The yellow card/sin bin rule is now in operation for all grades from u14 upwards.
A reminder once again that all new players must be registered before they can play.
Dates for the Diary - Dublin Senior B’s play Kildare in the next round of the Aisling McGing Cup on Sunday 26th April away.

The u14’s and u16’s play Wicklow in the fifth round of the Leinster championship on Saturday next 18th April. See website for further details closer to the time of the games.
