Leinster U/14 championship
3rd Round

Wexford 3-3 v Dublin7-14

Dublin clocked up a hat trick of wins when they travelled to the sunny south east on Saturday last and registered a convincing win over the model county. Eight Dublin forwards were on target with their number eleven Jessica Nugent coming out on top with a personal tally of three goals and five points while Stephanie Adamson and Leah Mullins notched up two goals and two points apiece.
The first twenty minutes of the game was well contested  as both teams matched each other score for score, but the Dublin girls slowly turned the screw as the game moved towards the break, the Dubs were five points clear when referee Pat Keogh blew for half time, with the score board reading 3-1 to 3-6 in Dublins favour.
Dublin with the sun and a slight breeze on their backs pushed on in the second half with the talented  Jessica Nugent controlling many of  Dublin attacks to leave the home side trailing in their wake, by the end of the third quarter the Dubs were seventeen points clear ( 5-13 to 3-2)  and had shifted into cruise control.
Midfielder Stephanie Adamson notched up two goals and two points before she was replaced by Chelsea Nally (blood sub).
Dublin back line were also in top form as the Wexford forwards tried in vain to breach Emer Treacy’s defensive wall, with the home side only managing to tag on a couple of points in the second period.
So, just like the Dublin U/16 team, the “Tour Of Leinster” continues for the U/14 team, their next outing is an away game to Kildare on Monday 13th of April next.
