Goal Mile - Christmas 2008

  • Dec 04,2008

Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Association are delighted to be involved with GOAL and their Christmas GOAL MILE event for 2008.

It couldn’t be easier to participate.  All you have to do is to turn up on the day, walk, run or crawl the Mile and make a donation to GOAL. Some participants make a personal donation while others seek sponsorship from friends and colleagues; it’s entirely up to you. The GOAL Mile is a great opportunity to do something practical for the poorest of the poor this Christmas. If you would like a sponsorship card, contact GOAL on 01 2809779. Sponsorship cards will also be available from the Dublin Ladies Gaelic December Monthly Board Meeting; your board delegate can pick up a card for you.

See below for locations & Times.
If you do participate in your club colours, remember to forward photos to info@dublinladiesgaelic.ie so they can be uploaded to Goal, Dublin Ladies Website and local press.

In 2007, the 30th anniversary, 65 GOAL miles took place nationwide raising over €400,000.

The first GOAL mile, which was the brainchild of former GOAL chairperson and international athlete, Noel Carroll, took place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin in  1982. The following year it transferred to Belfield and has been there ever since, becoming an integral part of Christmas for the many families who take up the baton to help those less fortunate than themselves.

Looking forward to your participation.

Yours in sport,

Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Executive
