LEINSTER SEMI FINAL DUBLIN 0-19   MEATH   1-6

CLASSY DUBS DEFEAT MEATH IN SEMI FINAL

Dublin got their 2008 Leinster campaign with a good win over a gallant Meath side in Portmarnock last Saturday. In front of a big crowd the Dubs got quickly into their stride with early points from Ciara Murphy and midfielder Amy McGuiness to open up a gap. Meath responded with a point from Elaine Duffy before she again popped up to finish a great move to the back of the Dublin net. Dublin in fairness responded well with full forwards Lyndsey Davey and Sinead Aherne began to cause problems for the Meath defence with their off the ball running and they chipped in with a couple of scores to give Dublin a Half time lead of to 0-11 to 1-3
Meath upped the tempo at the start of the second half and responded with a couple of scores from Grainne Nulty.Aherne again was causing Meath problems a she kept the score board ticking over for the Dubs before the introduction of Subs Kim Flood and Karen Hopkins. Fresh legs made a huge to difference as Dublin again raised the tempo with a majestic point from Flood followed by two great strikes from Karen Hopkins .Meath rallied again but resolute defending from  the likes Avril Cluxton and the brilliant Siobhan McGrath saw Dublin run out comfortable winners.
