Club Scene

Dublin have 58 clubs playing Dublin Ladies Football. New clubs this year include Adamstown with an adult team and Stars of Erin with an U14 team.

Robert Emmets who were a force with Ladies Football a couple of years ago have returned back with a bang. Rhoda Kerins who was a Dublin Senior selector a few years ago, has got Robert Emmets back up and running with teams at U12 and U14.

Rhoda is hoping to bring all these players thru to senior level, it is great to see

Robert Emmets back and with Rhoda in charge it won’t be long before they will be

Collecting cups.

 Teams

The number of teams have increased from 211 to 231, an increase of 20 teams.

This includes 18 new U10 teams, which is proof that young girls are turning to Dublin Ladies Football.

 Players

In 2006 Dublin had 4,405 registered members to the Ladies Association ( Cumann Peil Gael na mBan).

In 2007 this increased to 4,480 registered members and 2008 has seen a major increase to Dublin Ladies Football with 5,025 registered members to date and still growing.

However the Dublin Executive are carrying out a study at present, which is showing that we are losing a large number of girls at the ages of 16 to 18.
