Gaelic 4 Girls Comes Arriving in Marino

  • Jun 23,2008

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association will run a 6 week programme of Gaelic football for girls in the Marino area. These girls will never have played the sport before and will be given the opportunity to get involved in the Ladies Gaelic football through this programme. Gaelic 4 Girls will run every Tuesday for 5 weeks, beginning Tuesday 5th July, behind St. Patrick’s Building in Marino Institute, from 7-8pm for 10-13 year olds.

The girls will be taught the basic skills of Gaelic football on a fun basis by fully qualified coaches and will then demonstrate their new skills on the final day through a mini blitz of games and also in the National Blitz Day in Croke Park on Sunday 13th July. All girls will be presented with a ‘Gaelic 4 Girls’ t-shirt, medal and certificate. The programme has been a huge success in other areas in the county including Pearse Street, Mulhuddart, Darndale, Cabra, Finglas and Crumlin. It is hoped that all these girls will continue to play Ladies Gaelic Football by joining their local clubs.
