Gaelic 4 Mothers the new sensation in Dublin!

  • Jun 19,2008

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association have developed a new initiative called Gaelic4Mothers and it is proving to be a huge hit in Dublin and all around the country. The aim of this programme is to provide mothers an opportunity to play Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive, social environment. If a club runs this programme in it can have many benefits including:

 1. attract in new members as volunteers or players, 2. provide a social aspect to Ladies Gaelic Football in the club3. provide a physical activity for women in a safe fun environment.  Mothers often just drop kids off and the call back to collect them but Gaelic4Mothers gives them an opportunity to stay and keep fit in a fun way while meeting other mothers.  Clubs are asked to source a coach in the club willing to work with these mothers and Lyn Savage (Regional Development Officer) will then work with this coach or coaches on activities for mothers and women in general in the area. It brings a whole new social aspect to your club.

If your club is interested in participating in this programme or if you would like any further information you can contact Lyn on 0871316944 or lynsavage@ladiesgaelic.ie
