Scor na bPaisti

Good luck to those clubs taking part in this years Scor na bPaisti.

Scor na bPaisti Atha Cliath is aimed at primary school children who are members of GAA clubs. This is the first year that we have run Scor na bPaisti in Dublin and we are pleased with the response to date. 7 clubs are taking part - Naomh Olaf, Ballyboden st Endas Lucan Sarsfields, Naomh Barrog, St Peregrines Whitehall Colmcilles and Castleknock. We hope to build on these numbers next year. This years event is taking place in Whithall Colmcilles GAA Club on Monday May 19th at 7.30 p.m. SHARP. This event HAS to start on time as a lot of our competitors are very young. Admission is €5 for adults, €3 for children and €10 for a family.

We have entries in all 8 Scor categories- Figure Dancing, Set Dancing Solo Singing, Recitation, Question time, Ballad Group, Instrumental Music and Novelty Act. Medals will be awarded to those coming 1st and 2nd in each category. Please come along and support your club. These children and their organisers have worked very hard and DESERVE your support, particularly as many of the competitors are quite young. If you are a member of a club which has never taken part in Scor this is the perfect opportunity to come along and find out what it is all about. A raffle will be held on the night.

If any club,or individual, wishes to donate a prize, we would be very grateful. 2. A meeting will be called in the next few weeks to plan our activities and set our calendar for the next year. We would love to see a good representation of clubs at this meeting. We are looking for ideas as to other activities we can engage in to further promote Irish language and Culture in clubs in our capital city. A date for this meeting will be notified shortly. In the meantime, if you have any ideas as to what we could be doing please contact scorathacliath@eircom.net
