St Annes win in under 11 league thriller!

St Annes under 11 div 2 side came out on top in a thrilling game against Naomh Barrog on a cold Saturday afternoon in Bohernabreena. The game started off with both sides getting a few chances on goal only for great defending from St Annes and Naomh Barrog kept the game scoreless. It was Naomh Barrog who opened the scoring in an intense game. It was a great score from the Barrog midfielder which was shortly after evened up by another fine score by St Annes midfielder Frances McCann. Just before the break both sides again registered another point leaving the game evenly poised going into half time.
The second half kicked off in similar fashion as the first with both sides creating chances and had some faboulous play. As the game grew on St Annes slowly but surely were getting the better hand and that proved to be the case when Zara Perry got two points without reply leaving St Annes 0-4 to 0-2 up. In the closing stages of the game Naomh Barrog applied a lot of pressure on the St Annes goal but great defending kept them out and a player of the match display by Megan Carroll left St Annes with 2 wins from 3 at the start of the season.
