Healy named as 2016 Dublin Senior Captain

 

Noelle Healy has been announced as the new Dublin Senior captain for 2016. The 25 year old Doctor who is a member of St Brigid’s GAA club will begin her captaincy by leading Dublin out tomorrow versus Kerry in their opening game of the LIDL Ladies NFL.

 

Having joined the Dublin senior panel in 2007, Noelle Healy is one of the more experienced heads in the Dublin side, and one of the most committed. She was part of the side that made it to the All- Ireland final in 2009, shortly after doing her leaving certificate, and has been a mainstay ever since, even whilst undertaking one of the most challenging qualifications on offer.

 

Healy holds 1 senior All Ireland medal, 5 Leinster senior medals, 2 NFL Div 2 medals and was an All Star in 2014. Healy also holds All Ireland medals at U14, U16 and minor grades.

 

Former captains Sinead Goldrick (Foxrock Cabinteely) and Lyndsey Davey (Skerries Harps) will take on the roles of joint vice captains for the 2016 playing season.

 

Dublin take on Kerry at 2pm in Parnell Park tomorrow in round 1 of the Lidl Ladies NFL.
