Dublin U16 Trials 2015:

Dublin LGFA is seeking player nominations from clubs for girls to attend trials for the Dublin U16 panel of 2016.

The Dublin Executive Committee has appointed Pat Kane (Clan Na Gael Fontenoy) as Interim Minor Manager.

Nominations will only be accepted from your club secretary or nominated point of contact, deadline for submissions is October 23rd by 5pm (close of business).

Nomination forms which have been circulated to all club Secretaries can be emailed to info@dublinladiesgaelic.ie or posted to Dublin LGFA Office, Le Cheile, Donnycarney, Dublin 5

Over 200+ players where presented for trials in 2015 with only 30 girls chosen on the U16 panel we are appealing to clubs to only send forward players for trials who possess the attributes, commitment and dedication required to make an Inter County panel.

Your club mentors knowledge of your players should be used judiciously to only send forward for trials a player or players who they deem to have a reasonable chance of being in the final 30 of the whole County.

Unless you honestly consider that your player(s) are at or very close to the top 30 players in the County taking into consideration the grade and opposition against which they have been playing club football against in 2015, they should not be nominated.

Nominating a girl who is not accurately near the standard to make the final 30 will only prove to be very disheartening for the player in question.  Dublin LGFA is appealing to your mentors not to view Dublin minor trials as a mechanism to “reward” players.

To be eligible to be considered for the Dublin U16 panel of 2016 players must be registered members of a club and be under 16 years of age on the 1st of January 2016 (born 2000/2001).
