Dublin G.A.A. award 2015 Gaeltacht grants

Following the success of hosting the 2015 Scór na nÓg and Scór Sinsear All-Ireland finals, Dublin G.A.A. has been able to offer a number of Gaeltacht grants to our members.

Interviews were held with applicants in Parnell Park on 28th May and playing members from the following clubs were each awarded €100.00 grants:

Whitehall Colmcille’s

Kilmacud Crokes

St. Bridgid’s

Lucan Sarsfields

Na Fianna

St. Oliver Plunkett’s / Eoghan Rua

Castleknock x 2

Naomh Olaf x 2

The grants are limited to clubs that participate in the Scór competitions, a max of 2 per club and 1 per family.

Coiste Cultúrtha Átha Cliath, who conducted the interviews, were very satisfied with the standard of Gaeilge amongst the membership. Oifigeach na Gaeilge Átha Cliath, Bairbre Ní Néill, commented “The standard of Irish displayed by all the applicants was very high. This is due to the hard work being put in by teachers throughout the county. This is very encouraging to everyone working to promote the language. To any applicant that did not succeed, we will run the scheme again in 2016 so we hope you will apply again next year.”
