Leinster U14 Final – Blue blood runs deep!

Clane GAA Club will host the 2015 clash of Dublin and Meath with proceedings due to get underway on Saturday at 3.15pm. Dublin will be aiming to put back to back Leinster titles together having defeated the Royal County in last year’s U14 provincial decider.

Saturday will be a momentous occasion for all the player’s families and friends but even more so for the Connolly, McGuigan, Guiden and McNally families as their next generation of Dublin stars strive to win a coveted Leinster medal.

Jessica Connelly from Foxrock Cabinteely is the younger sister of current senior star Amy Connolly who has All Ireland medals with Dublin at U14, U16 and minor level.  Amy is a pivotal player on this year’s senior panel having returned to the panel this year following a couple of years sabbatical.

Current U21 forward Ciara McGuigan who bagged 1-02 for Dublin in last weekend’s 26 point win over Meath is the sister of Thomas Davis representative Orlagh McGuigan. Ciara won a U21 All Ireland medal with Dublin last year and is aiming for a second this season under Dublin boss Gregory McGonigle.

On the GAA front, Katie McNally from St Anne’s is the niece of Hill 16 legend Joe McNally and daughter of current U21 Dublin GAA football selector Alan McNally.

While Caitlyn Guiden of St Sylvester’s is the daughter of 90’s former Dublin star Niall Guiden.

Keeping with the family connection the Heffernan twins Niamh and Aoife will also be hoping to emulate the success of the Carey Twins from Ballinteer St Johns who picked up a Leinster U16 medal a fortnight ago with Dublin ironically against Meath and at the same Clane venue.

Dublin LGFA would like to wish all our players, management, families, and friends all the very best of luck on Saturday #COYGIB
