Inter County Challenge Game

FT Score Dublin 4-16 Leinster 0-09

Dublin manager Gregory McGonigle was pleased with his sides performance today over Leinster as the fixture gave his team an opportunity to shake of the disappointment of last Sunday’s NFL semi-final loss to Galway while at the same time giving a number of his U21 squad valuable game time ahead of their 2015 campaign.

The challenge game was played in Skerries as part of Skerries Harps GAA club official opening of their new club house. Local hero Lyndsey Davey did not disappoint the home support as the Dublin captain finished the game as her side’s top scorer with a personnel tally of 1-04.

McGonigle will also be pleased with the return to competitive football of senior players Colleen Barrett and Ciara Ruddy who both featured for Dublin today for the first time this season following long term injuries.

With the Aisling McGing U21 championship due to get underway in a few weeks’ time Dublin will be boosted by the performances of U21 players Eabha Rutledge and Niamh Rickard along with Aoife Curran and Kate Fitzgibbon.

Dublin begin the defence of their U21 All Ireland crown on May 24th with an away tie versus Meath followed by away game to Galway on May 31st concluding with a home tie versus Cork on June 7th.
