AIG Feile Division 1 Final –

Kilmacud Crokes 0-08 Ballyboden St Endas 0-03

A low scoring first half followed by a master class in football in the second half saw Kilmacud Crokes claiming the division one féile title over Ballyboden at St Peregrines on Sunday morning.

Just moments into the match Crokes scored a point setting the tone right from the start and it was not long before they landed the ball over the bar again for their second to give them a two point lead heading into half time.

Ballyboden tried for a score at the restart but were denied it by the Kilmacud backs. When Kilmacud regained the possession Grace Kos had a wonderful run with the ball down the pitch to put it over the bar and Kate O’Connor wasted no time when she won the kick out and landed another point for her side.

Ballyboden were awarded a free and Kate McDonald used it to score the side’s first point of the match. It was not long after this that Ballyboden were awarded another free which Hollyn Kennedy put over the bar.

However Kilmacud’s Kate O’Connor and Grace Kos combined to find Kilmacud’s fifth point as Kilmacud held onto their domination of the match.

The final three minutes of the game proved to be an exciting affair with Kilmacud proving relentless in their attacks. Grace Kos continued to be extremely influential in the half forward line and set up a lovely point for Cassie Sultan.

Kilmacud did not waiver once and Aoife Taafe scored two skilful points in quick succession with only seconds to spare to wrap up the division one title for Kilmacud in a five point victory.
