AIG Feile Division 3 Final –

St Oliver Plunketts ER 1-03 Erins Isle 0-02

St Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh claimed the division three title defeating Erins Isle.

Erins Isle took an early lead in the match when they were awarded a free which Eva Clerkin put over the bar. They further increased their lead with another pointed free from Lucy Watson.

Plunketts came in close for scores, but both resulted in wide kicks. However, they made the breakthrough just four minutes before half time when they scored their opening point.

Erins Isle held a lot of the ball for the opening half, but were not creating a lot of scoring chances from their possession and at the break Erins Isle were a point ahead.

After the restart, Erins Isle midfielder Molly Brown continued her impressive run of play and created a chance straight away, however it went wide.

Plunketts wasted no time when they got the ball and Alice Leahy, Katie Draper Synott and Caoimhe Bresnan worked well to get the ball to the hands of Eimear McCarney who then, despite the best efforts of the Erins Isle backs, put the ball into the net to bring Plunketts into the lead.

After this, Plunketts held onto a lot of the ball and their momentum continued with further points from Gaby Couch and Amy Campion.

Campion’s point came just as the whistle blew and Plunketts were division three champions, winning by four points.
