Dublin v Kerry

Sunday March 1st, 12:30

Legion GAA Club, Killarney

On Sunday Dublin ladies will take on Kerry in the 4th round of the NFL at 12:30 in Legion GAA Club, Killarney.

Disappointingly their male counter parts will be playing just five minutes up the road at 2pm in Fitzgerald Stadium.

One has to ask the question have the powers that be missed an ideal opportunity to promote both codes as part of what could have been a superb double- header ?

Anyhow Dub’s manager Greg McGonigle has made two changes to his line up from that which lost surprisingly to Mayo last Sunday.

Trinity College student Sarah McCaffrey returns to partner Amy Connolly at midfield as the Clontarf starlet was unavailable for selection last weekend owing to college commitments overseas.

While 2014 All Star Noelle Healy is listed at number 10 replacing Eabha Rutledge in the Dubs half forward line. The speedy St Brigids forward will line out alongside Dublin Captain Lyndsey Davy with Carla Rowe returning to her regular half forward position after her stint at midfield last weekend.

Laois handed Kerry a walkover last Sunday resulting in the Kingdom having played no competitive game since their one point defeat to Cork on the 8th of February last.

Kerry boss, Alan O’Neill has bolstered the Kingdom and players like Louise Galvin and Lorraine Scanlon have both enjoyed a great boost in their personal form.  However former All Stars Louise Ní Muircheartaigh and Sarah Houlihan still remain the focal points of the Kerry attack and are sure to keep the Dublin defenders on their toes for the full 60 minutes of football.

Either way the first battle of Killarney on Sunday between Kerry and Dublin is sure to be an entertaining clash between two great sporting rivals.
