TESCO Homegrown Leinster Club Championship

Sunday 5th October – 3:30pm

Junior Quarter Final

Venue: Thomastown

Thomastown (Kilkenny) v Clann Mhuire (Dublin)

Referee: Cathy Forde (Wicklow)

Clann Mhuire will make the journey to the County of Kilkenny on Sunday for a Leinster championship clash with Thomastown. The girls from Naul will have very little knowledge of their opponents making Sunday’s encounter a hard one to call but will know that they can take nothing for granted.

Clann Mhuire enjoyed a comfortable 3-13 to 0-09 victory over St Maurs in the County final which was played back in mid -July. Dublin forward Carla Rowe will have to put Sunday’s disappointment of losing the All Ireland final to Cork behind her and turn her attention to the ladies of Thomastown.

The Naul club would dearly like to progress to the Provincial semi-final but first need to overcome the challenge of the unknown Kilkenny side.

The small parish with the big dreams will be looking for another player of the match performance from inside forward Oonagh White while the experienced duo of Aisling Barrett and Niamh Keane can once more give commanding performances from midfield and centre back for the North County side.
