TESCO Homegrown Leinster Club Championship

Sunday 5th October – 3:30pm

Intermediate Quarter Final

Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin) v St Helens (Longford)

Referee: Stephen McNulty (Wicklow)

Intermediate champions Kilmacud Crokes begin their Leinster championship campaign this Sunday with a home tie versus Longford champions St Helens.

Kilmacud Crokes defeated Parnells in the Dublin Intermediate championship final back in July by 2-08 to 1-04. Kilmacud Crokes where guilty of squandering numerous scoring opportunities in the final a trait they cannot afford to bring with them into their Leinster campaign.

Despite playing the majority of the second half with 14 players following the dismissal of Holly Greer, Crokes manager Tommy Doran will be seeking a much improved performance from his chargers on Sunday.

Kilmacud Crokes have an abundance of youthful talent amongst their ranks which includes Dublin senior panellists Molly Lamb, Michelle Davoren and Eabha Rutledge along with County minor panellists Lauren Magee, Aoife Kane and Holly Greer.

However Ann Marie Cahill McBarron is their inspirational leader who at 36 years of age continues to inspire this Stillorgan based team.

Kilmacud Crokes experience and wealth of talent should prove too ample for Longford champions St Helens with the Dublin champions many pundit’s favourites to advance to the provincial semi-final.
