TG4 All Ireland Semi Final
Dublin v Galway
Saturday August 30th,
Cusack Park, Mullingar - 3:15pm
Referee: Maggie Farrelly (Cavan)

Sinead Aherne has been in splendid form for Dublin this season the Malahide ace is the Capitals top scorer in the championship having amassed a remarkable 5-33 (17f) to date in just four championship outings.

The 27 year old accountant who made her debut for Dublin against Longford back in 2003 has enjoyed a remarkable career in the sky blue jersey. The diminutive forward was simply class in the 2010 All Ireland final versus Tyrone scoring 2-07 (3f) as Dublin went on to capture the Brendan Martin cup for a historic first time.

Aherne who plays her club football with St Sylvester’s has enjoyed quite an illustrious career aside from her coveted All Ireland medal Sinead has also collected 8 Senior Leinster medals, 2 NFL medals and 3 All Star awards.

Having been named the TG4 Player of the Match in the quarter final win over Kerry last week Galway will be determined to curtail the Dublin full forwards influence on Saturday’s semi -final.

Mairead Coyne from Grainne Mhaoils is most likely to be the player handed the task of policing Aherne but don’t be surprised to see veteran Galway defender Emer Flaherty moved onto the St Sylvester’s star at some point during the game.

Dublin boss Gregory McGonigle is due to name his team for Saturday’s semi-final tomorrow (Thursday) with Sinead Finnegan continuing to be an injury concern for the Dubs as the Fingallians defender battles to overcome a hamstring injury.

Dublin versus Galway will be shown live from Cusack Park in Mullingar on TG4 from 3:15pm on Saturday August 30th.
