All Ireland U16 Final
Dublin v Cork
Saturday August 30th
JK Brackens GAA Club, Templemore - 1pm

The two power houses of LGFA - Dublin and Cork will meet on Saturday to decide who will be crowned the 2014 U16 All Ireland champions.

Saturday's contest will be a repeat of the 2013 final.

Cork won that encounter in Birr quite convincing the final score reading, Cork 6-09 (27) Dublin 3-05 (14).

Eimear Scally who is currently on the Cork senior panel was top scorer for Cork that day while Emma Colgan, Shauna O'Hara and Rebecca McDonnell netted Dublin's goals.

Four members of the 2013 Dublin panel will feature for the blues again on Saturday Ellen Curren, Mia Jennings, Hannah O'Neill and team Captain, Erica Byrne.

All four players have been in exceptional form for Dublin throughout their championship campaign this season.

Their added experience of playing Cork could be a key factor in deciding where the title will go this weekend.

While Dublin had a tough battle with Galway on route to the final Cork had an easier passage to the decider enjoying a 26 point win over the Breffni County, Cavan.

Dublin had to dig deep in their semi-final versus Galway. The game went to extra time with Dubs winning out in the end by 6-12 (30) to Galway's 4-13 (25).

Cork on the other hand enjoyed a 6-13 (31) to 0-05 (5) win over Cavan in their semi-final clash. Waterford also gave the Rebel girls a fright in their provincial final. Cork eventually held on to take the Munster Crown by a single point, 1-15 (18) to 1-14 (17).

Saturday's game should be an interesting affair the sides have meet in the All Ireland final on three occasions with Cork leading the way with two wins from three, (2013), (2005) Dublin however took the title from the rebels in 2006.

Cork also lead the U16 All Ireland roll of honour with 8 titles, Dublin currently have 3, winning the cup in 1989, 2006 and 2010.

Croke Park had advised that the admission charge for Saturday's U16 All Ireland final will be €8 for Adults & €3 for Students/OAP’s and U16’s are free.
