Finnegan a major concern for Dubs

TG4 Senior Championship Quarter Final

Saturday August 23rd

Dublin v Kerry

St Brendan’s Park, Birr

Sinead Finnegan, Dublin’s sturdy centre half back appears to be a major doubt for Dublin ahead of this Saturdays All Ireland championship quarter final clash with the Kingdom.

Finnegan, who has been in tremendous form for Dublin this season picked up a hamstring injury in a recent challenge game and is struggling to regain her fitness.

Dublin boss Gregory McGonigle, will await the result of a late fitness test on the Fingallians star which is due to take place tomorrow evening, before he officially announces his starting line-up for Saturday’s all important clash with Kerry.

However there is good news on the injury front for Dublin, as captain Sinead Goldrick who suffered a knee ligament injury prior to the commencement of the Leinster championship is now back to full fitness.

Goldrick was introduced as a second half substitute during Dublin’s Leinster final win over Laois back in July. But having the two times All Star available for the full 60 minutes will be seen as a major boost for the Dubs as they endeavour to book their place in the semi-final for the first time since 2010.
