Dublin U17 Development Squad:

LGFA are coordinating an U17 Academy programme this year for counties leading to a National U17 Academy Blitz on 7th August.

Dublin propose to run the programme during the month of July and to participate in the 7th August Blitz.

U17 Academies should be:

• An Inclusive programme for all clubs to feel involved

• Opportunity for Under 17 players to be exposed to training at a higher standard

• An opportunity for all Counties to enhance their process of player development and talent identification

• Promotion of a positive environment prioritising the involvement of all players

 

In order to prepare for this programme clubs are asked to send forward the names of suitable players who will be available to participate from the start of July right through to the 7th of August.

Each club is invited to send forward two but no more than three players (none of whom are involved in 2014 county squads), born in 1997 and who they believepossess the attributes, commitment and dedication required to make an Inter County panel in 2015.

Nominating a player who is not near the standard to make an Inter County panel will only prove to be very disheartening for the player in question. Please discourage your mentors to view the programme as a mechanism to “reward” players.

Nominations are to be submitted on the official application form which has been issued to your club secretary or nominated point of contact, deadline for submissions is Wednesday 25th June at 5pm
