Dubs go in search of U14 title

  • May 15,2014

Dublin U14’s will head to Mullingar this Saturday the 17th of May to compete in the All -Ireland U14 blitz, St Lomans will play host to the division one competition with proceedings due to get underway at 10.00am

Dublin are fielding two teams in the 2014 competition with both teams been graded in division one.

Division one Group A consists of Cork, Dublin A, Galway, Cavan and Waterford while Division one Group B will see Mayo, Meath, Dublin B and Kerry compete for honours.

The All- Ireland U14 blitz had been organised annually by the LGFA since 1991 and this particular All-Ireland crown has proven to be somewhat of an elusive one for the Dubs with Dublin still to claim a title on behalf of the Capital.  Dublin did qualify for the final in 2004 and 2002 only to lose out to the girls from Cork.

Cork lead the honours list with 10 titles, followed by Kerry (5), Waterford (2), Galway (2), meanwhile Mayo, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath all have one All-Ireland title to their name.

Best wishes to the two Dublin panels and their management team Fearghall Brennan, Pat Kane, Lee Moroney, Sinead Vivish and Therese Molohan.
