Dublin rings the changes …

Dublin boss Gregory McGonigle has made no less than eleven changes to his starting 15 for Sunday’s sixth and final group NFL fixture with Leinster rivals, Laois.

Dublin who have already secured a place in the knock out stages with a round to spare are currently positioned in second place in the division one league table, one point behind table toppers Kerry.

Safe in the knowledge that his side have secured a semi-final spot McGonigle has handed his panel of players an opportunity to impress against Laois, with Sorcha Furlong, Sinead Goldrick, Sinead Aherne and Margaret Mohan the four players who remain on the team sheet from last weekend’s clash with Tyrone.

Highly experience players such as Natalia Hyland and Niamh Collins to name but two will be eager to try nail down a starting 15 position for the up- coming semi-final. The division one semi-finals are pencilled in for Sunday the 27th of April the pairings will be clarified following Sunday’s final round of fixtures with both Cork and Mayo needing wins to qualify.

Reigning league champions Cork will hope to book their place in the last four by defeating Tyrone, even though the Red Hands have yet to register a victory in Division 1 this year, Cork will take nothing for granted.

Elsewhere Mayo host Monaghan in Ballina knowing that they have to win to keep alive their very slim hopes of a top four finish. Kerry host the already relegated Donegal at Tralee IT safe too in the knowledge that they will be playing in this year’s semi-final a year on from securing division one status having only won the division 2 title last season.

Dublin versus Laois will take place in Naomh Mearnog GAA club on Sunday April 6th at 2pm, Yvonne Duffy from Cavan will take charge of this all Leinster clash.
