Tesco Home Grown NFL Division one

Round 1 (Refixed)

Monaghan v Dublin

Sunday 23rd February 2014

Venue: Inniskeen GAA Club, 2:45pm

Referee: Maggie Farrelly (Cavan)

Following on from their hard fought but impressive win over Mayo last weekend Dublin this Sunday head north to Inniskeen to take on All Ireland finalists Monaghan in the rescheduled first round fixture with the throw in time down for 2.45pm.

Dublin boss McGonigle makes just one change to his starting 15 with Deirdre Murphy replacing Colleen Barrett in the Dublin defence. Murphy will take up position in the right corner berth with Siobhan McGrath moving out to the right half back post.

Both sides have a 100% record to date in the NFL with Monaghan having accounted for both Laois and reigning league champions, Cork. Meanwhile Dublin under their new management team of McGonigle, Fintan O’Curry and Davy Bourke have seen off the challenges of Kerry and Mayo.

In last season’s corresponding fixture Monaghan who were then managed by McGonigle, chalked up an impressive 4-15 to 1-05 victory over the Sky Blues.

This Sunday Dublin will travel to Inniskeen intent on revenging last season’s performance thus hoping to maintain their unbeaten record in the TESCO Home Grown NFL.
