Dublin LGFA Weekly Notes:

 

TESCO Home Grown NFL:

Following the postponement of last Sunday’s fixture with Monaghan Dublin will now begin their 2014 NFL campaign this coming Sunday February 9th with a home tie versus Kerry. This eagerly awaited clash of the Leinster and Munster provincial champions of 2013 will take place in Naomh Mearnog GAA club, Portmarnock (weather permitting) with throw in time pencilled in for 2pm. 

 

February County Board meeting:

There will be two meetings of the Dublin County Board in February, on the 11th February (Player regrading) and on the 18th February, (Juvenile grading) both meetings will take place in Parnell Park commencing at 7.30pm

Referees Level 2 course:

A Level 2 course for Dublin LGFA referee’s for existing officials who currently referee club ladies football in Dublin from U13 up to and including senior level will take place this Thursday February 6th at 7pm in Parnell Park. This is a 2.5 hour course which is theory based and includes a written test – there will be no fitness test. Referees are required to confirm their attendance & verify which date they are attending to Paul McLoughlin by email todubladiesrefs@gmail.com or by text to 086-2503844.

 

Fundamental’s coaching course:

A ‘FUNdamentals’ coaching course will take place on Saturday 22nd of February in Naomh Mearnog GAA club from 1-7pm. Fundamentals is a mix of theory and practical elements delivered in a fun and dynamic way.

 

All participants are fully involved in the course and the key aim is to be as interactive as possible.

 

The FUNdamentals course comprises of 4 units, 2 of which are practical: Unit 1:  Good Coaching Practice, Unit 2:  ABC’s of Gaelic Football, Unit 3:  Group Management and Child Protection, Unit 4:  Coaching a Session.

 

Requirements; All participants must be 16 years or older. Costs -It will cost €20 to participate in the course. Length - This course will last a minimum of 6 hours.

 

Places will only be confirmed on receipt of booking form and course fee.
