Dublin LGFA Weekly Notes :

TESCO Home Grown NFL:

Dublin will begin their 2014 NFL campaign this coming Sunday February 2nd with an away trip to Monaghan. This eagerly awaited clash of the Leinster and Ulster provincial champions of 2013 will take place in Aughnamullen with throw in time pencilled in for 2pm.  For those unable to make the trip North there will be regular score updates available on twitter, follow us on @dublinladiesg

 

February County Board meeting:

There will be two meetings of the Dublin County Board in February, on the 11th February (Player regrading) and on the 18th February, (Juvenile grading) both meetings will take place in Parnell Park commencing at 7.30pm

 

Referees Level 2 course:

A Level 2 course for Dublin LGFA referee’s for existing officials who currently referee club ladies football in Dublin from U13 up to and including senior level will take place on February 3rd and 6th. This is a 2.5 hour course which is theory based and includes a written test – there will be no fitness test on these dates.

Due to the high numbers of officials requested to attend the course has been split geographically north and south. South side Level 2: Monday 3rd of February Venue: Thomas Davis GAA club, Time: 7-9:30pm. North side Level 2:

Thursday 6th of February Venue: Parnell Park, Time: 7-9:30pm.

Fundamental’s coaching course:

The ‘FUNdamentals’ course will take place on Saturday 22nd of February, the course is a mix of theory and practical elements delivered in a fun and dynamic way. All participants are fully involved in the course and the key aim is to be as interactive as possible. The FUNdamentals course comprises of 4 units, 2 of which are practical: Unit 1:  Good Coaching Practice, Unit 2:  ABC’s of Gaelic Football, Unit 3:  Group Management and Child Protection, Unit 4:  Coaching a Session.

 

Venue: Naomh Mearnog GAA Club, Portmarnock - Time: 1 - 7 pm

Requirements; All participants must be 16 years or older. Costs -It will cost €20 to participate in the course. Length - This course will last a minimum of 6 hours. Places will only be confirmed on receipt of booking form and course fee.
