Croi Ro Naofa v Man O War

Both teams started the game keen to gain advantage and Croi Ro Naofa got the possession and scored two quick points from Susan Murray and Cherie Kavanagh.

 

Man O War got the ball back and tried to get some points on the board but they had three successive wides.


Both teams look very strong and there was a constant struggle for possession as play was kept very tight. However Croi Ro Naofa got the breakthrough when Kavanagh scored another point for her side.


Man O War got their opening score when Ciara Sheridan made a breaking run and scored a point.


Shortly after, Man O War were given a free which was taken by Adrienne Moore and she capitalised and scored another point for her side.


Croi Ro Naofa's Alison Phillips made another shot but it dropped short and was kept away by the Man O War backs. Croi Ro Naofa kept the pressure on and Nicola Murphy took a shot that appeared to be going over as a point however it dipped slightly and went in as the opening goal of the game.


Still Croi Ro Naofa didn't let up and just a few moments later Emma Reilly scored the next point for the side. Straight away Reilly took another shot but it bounced off the bars and was picked up by Murray who kicked it over for a point.


Man O War's Clodagh Bolger made a pass to Áine Gilmore who took a shot but it went to the left of the goalposts; however Man O War kept the possession and Gilmore scored a point. Joanne Moore took another shot however this one also went wide, but they kept their momentum going Meadhbh Kelly scored another point.

 

This was soon followed by two more points scored by Emma McGlynn and Adrienne Moore.


Croi Ro Naofa were awarded a free which was taken and scored by Kavanagh and shortly after this Reilly scored another point.

At half time the score stood at 1-07 to 0-06 in favour of Croi Ro Naofa.

A strong start to the second half saw Man O War's McGlynn score a point for her side and Man O War kept a hold onto possession and it was quickly followed up by a narrow wide from Kelly. Man O War kept the pressure on and Dearbhla Sheridan scored their next point.

 

Lynn Campbell scored the opening point of the half for Croi Ro Naofa.


Croi Ro Naofa got another point from Kavanagh shortly after this and moments later Kavanagh took a free for but it bounced off the posts. They kept the ball and Murray had a shot but it went wide.


A good attack from Man O War brought the ball the length of the pitch but it was kept out; however they still held possession and Gilmore got a point.


Croi Ro Naofa brought the ball back and Kavanagh added on another point.

 

Man O War's Joanne Moore had a very close shot on goal but the Croi Ro Naofa keeper kept it out; however Man O War kept pushing and McGlynn got a point.


Croi Ro Naofa made another major break when Murray got the second goal of the game.


Kavanagh scored another point for Croi Ro Naofa to bring the gap even further and as they continued to keep the pressure on Reilly scored another point.


When Man O War got possession they wasted no time and Joanne Moore scored a point.


Croi Ro Naofa dominated the second half and this was seen when Jessica Wall scored another point for the side.


With the clock ticking down against them Man O War made one last burst with three successive points from Gilmore, McGlynn and Adrienne Moore; however the gap in scores was just too much and at full time the score stood at Croi Ro Naofa 2-13, Man O War 0-14 with Croi Ro Naofa winning the Junior A championship.

 

Player of the match was awarded to Croi Ro Naofa's Jessica Wall.
