TG4 All Ireland Quarter Final

Saturday August 24th at 2:15pm

Dublin v Cork

St Brendans Park, Birr

Same again for Dubs -

Dublin boss, Paul Gilheaney has gone with an unchanged team by naming the same starting 15 that captured the Leinster title back in July for Saturday's TG4 All Ireland quarter final clash with Cork.

Gilheaney however has brought Dublin minor, Carla Rowe into his senior panel. Rowe was player of the match in the All-Ireland minor final replay against Galway having nailed eleven points at centre forward for the Dubs in that ill-fated game.

Dublin has reached the quarter final on the back of two wins in the Leinster championship firstly against Kildare in the semi-final defeating the Lilywhites 3-17 to 1-12. Dublin then followed up that win by having a strong 3-14 to 0-09 performance versus Meath in the Provincial decider.

Cork's form has been somewhat below their usual high standard having lost to Kerry twice in the Munster championship. Having lost their Munster crown the reigning All Ireland champions scraped past Armagh in the qualifiers winning that game by a single point.

Cork boss, Eamonn Ryan has made one name change for the game against Dublin but has a number of positional changes from that which lined out against Armagh. Orlagh Farmer moves to the bench with Angela Walsh named at midfield where she will partner the non-retired Juliet Murphy, Annie Walsh switches to the half forward line in place of Farmer. While Rena Buckley moves to centre half back with the O'Sullivan Sisters Doireann and Ciara switching positions with Doireann taking up position in front of the small square and Ciara moving to the 40.

John Niland from Sligo will take charge of this eagerly anticipated clash he was also in charge when the two sides meet in the 2011 quarter final which Cork won by the narrowest of margins. A key call in that game was Niland's sin binning of now Dublin captain, Sinead Goldrick.

Niland didn't endear himself to Dublin supporters when he took charge of the recent Minor All Ireland replay against Galway, playing a questionable amount of additional time in the second half.

Referees non intentionally have found themselves at the centre of a number of sporting debates this summer hopefully tomorrow's game will be only remembered for the football.
