Davey on fire for Dubs

  • Jun 30,2013

Dublin qualified for the TG4 Leinster senior final following an impressive eleven point victory over Kildare. Reigning champs, Dublin will now face either Meath or Laois in the provincial decider on Saturday July 13th.

Dublin boss Paul Gilheaney will overall be content with his chargers performance apart from one worrying aspect of the game which was Dublin's unexplained dip in concentration on the second half restart which allowed Kildare come within four points of the provincial champions. Dublin had taken an eight point lead into the dressing room at the break.

On the plus side of their performance Gilheaney will be pleased with the spread of Dublin scorers with no fewer than eight Dubs registering on the score board.  Championship rookies Deidre Murphy and Martha Byrne will also be happy with their senior championship debut performances.

Dublin will have two weeks to fine tune their game plan ahead of the Leinster final which will be played for the first time on a Saturday evening  the venue once again is Dr Cullen Park in Carlow with throw in time pencilled in for 5pm.
